April 2,1994, Dennis Lewis, was called out to the scene of an accident on Greenwell Springs Road. When he arrived he saw what seemed to be a battle sight. Six
teenagers were scattered all over the place. The teens were packed in the 1985 Dodge Conquest. They were headed north bound on Greenwell Springs Road near Morgan Road when the driver lost control of
the car and hit a tree. The impact was so great the front of the car was in the street and the rear of the car was up against the tree. Needless to say all six teens were drinking. One lost an eye,
another a broke arm, the rest had cuts and bruises. Luckily they did survive the crash. However, most do not. And more often than not they take other innocent people with them. The parents of the
teen that owned the car gave it to us. So, we decided to put it to good use. Our company has worked hundreds of DWI accidents in our many years of business. Some worse than this one. However, we feel
that the impact is greater with teenagers when they find out that teens were in this car. Our show-car has been put on display at many high schools around town during prom and graduation time; it
also is displayed at the annual teen safety event the parents of Exxon hold for their children. It was also used several years ago at a safety day at Celebration Station in conjunction with MADD. Not
to mention we display it ourselves during the month of December. The Lewis family would like to thank all that show interest in our show-car to educate and promote the life of our teenagers.
Sometimes they do not know how valuable they are.![]() Close to the door he paused to stand, As he took his class ring off her hand. All who were watching did not speak, As a silent tear ran down his cheek. And through his mind the memories ran, Of the moments they walked and laughed in the sand, But now her eyes were so terrible cold, For he would never again have her to hold. They watched in silence as he bent near, And whispered the words " I LOVE YOU" in her ear. He touched her face and started to cry, As he put on his ring and wanted to die. And just then the wind began to blow, As they lowered her casket into the snow. This is what happens to men alive, When friends let friends drink and drive. "Unknown Author" |
